Start with something useful

U.S. counties

Find a county or compare up to five. Population, income and housing, from the same Census edition.

2020–2024 estimates, with margins and missing values preserved. Browse counties.

Weather

Hourly and daily forecasts at seven named locations, from the Dry Tortugas to mainland Monroe.

Temperature, rain chance and conditions. Forecasts, not local sensors.

Alerts

Active official messages for the Keys, mainland Monroe and surrounding forecast waters.

Severity, affected zones, dates and instructions. These zones can extend beyond the county.

Tides & water levels

Predicted high and low tides, alongside the latest measured level at Key West and Vaca Key.

Separate predictions and observations. A tide prediction is not a flood forecast.

Communities

Population estimates for Monroe's five incorporated municipalities, with their margins of error.

Census 2020–2024 survey estimates. These are not counts of people here today.

Area profiles

Reviewed property, people and utility facts for 24 fixed county, region, ZIP-area and municipal scopes.

Every metric keeps its own period. Missing or withheld values stay null.

Recovery money

FEMA declarations and aggregate Public Assistance obligations for Monroe.

HMA is marked unavailable because beneficiary state cannot be proven. No project or applicant records.

Country profiles

Six understandable World Bank indicators for retained country profiles.

Each value keeps its own year. Missing observations stay missing.

Venue capacities

Reviewed event spaces and rooms with published capacities.

Seats and maximum occupancy are different. This is not a booking or safety guarantee.

Public-project evidence

Original county budgets linked to a proposal and signed decision.

A selected FY26 fund. Current balances and spending are unavailable.

Tropical systems

Systems currently listed by NHC and CPHC, with available center, forecast track, cone and coastal watch or warning geometry.

Atlantic, Eastern Pacific and Central Pacific only. The cone is not storm size or a safety boundary.

ATLAS ACCESS

Use the right connection

Read the registry JSON

A reviewed guide to the connections behind the Atlas. It tells people and agents which paths they can call, which files they can reuse, and when they must go to the original publisher.

Atlas API

Fixed, documented reads

Use an existing route, keep its source dates and cache it sensibly.

Published file

Reviewed Atlas output

Keep the listed license, attribution and scope with the file.

Source handoff

Go to the publisher

Atlas does not proxy, archive or license that source for you.

This registry is not a blanket license. Entries marked Not offered explain a World connection without making it available for reuse. Read each entry's source, limits and attribution before use. Planning an event? Browse reviewed venue capacities; an occupancy limit is not a seat count or a booking guarantee.

READ-ONLY MCP

A safe entrance for agents

Connect an MCP client to https://ourcounty.us/mcp. It exposes only reviewed Atlas API products and keeps source dates, caveats, missing values and suppression in every result.

Fixed read-only tools. No arbitrary URL, write, SQL, file, credential or raw-person access. Shared free capacity is limited, so clients must cache results and back off on HTTP 429.

MCP QUICK START

One endpoint, reviewed tools

Review the registry

Use Streamable HTTP at https://ourcounty.us/mcp. In clients that accept an MCP server map, add:

MCP client configuration
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "ourcounty-atlas": {
      "url": "https://ourcounty.us/mcp"
    }
  }
}

First call: list_atlas_products with {}. Then call get_dataset_metadata for the product you plan to use. Cache results, space tool calls at least one second apart and keep them below 30 per minute. Honor Retry-After on HTTP 429 or 503.

Try a complete workflow

One question, one reviewed response. Copy or download the instructions for your own agent.

Ready. Nothing is requested until you build an example.

Compare U.S. counties

Call list_us_counties with {"search":"Monroe"}, then compare_us_counties with {"county_ids":["12087","12086"]}. Keep the dates, margins and source notes with your results. This compares national facts; it does not claim every county has a local edition.

FIRST EVIDENCE PACK

Start with an answerable question

Monroe's 2024 general-election results are packaged with source hashes, denominators, suppression rules and clear limits. It is built for a person or agent to inspect, cite and model.

County contest summaries and a safely released presidential source-precinct table are available. Historic precinct geometry and precinct turnout are not.

NO SETUP NEEDED

Try a request

Browse the API catalog

Choose a dataset, then get its current response.

Use this request in your own project
Terminal

Read the response status, source dates and any missing components before using a value. Keep your last successful result separate from your last attempted refresh.

Build with the limits in view

Dates, missing data and failures

A source issue time describes the forecast. An observation time describes a measurement. The API's check time describes when it retrieved that source. A cached response keeps those dates; requesting it again does not make the data newer.

A missing number is null, not zero. An empty, successful alerts response means no active messages were returned for the covered zones. An unavailable response means we could not establish that. Partial responses identify which part could not be supplied.

All tide times are UTC and levels are in feet relative to Mean Lower Low Water (MLLW), the station's low-tide reference. Observations may be preliminary. Do not compare a level with an elevation using a different reference.

Access, caching and fair use

Use GET to read, HEAD for response headers and OPTIONS for browser access. Cross-origin reads are allowed. Only the listed paths and locations are supported; unlisted query parameters and write requests are rejected.

Cache responses in your application. Check forecasts no more than every 15 minutes, alerts every minute, and tides or tropical cyclones every five minutes. Area profiles and Census estimates belong to dated editions and do not need frequent polling. Honor Retry-After on failures and back off when a request fails.

Shared edge caches, fixed routes, request timeouts and response limits keep this service small. There is no guaranteed availability or dedicated capacity. Heavy or abusive traffic may be restricted. No account or paid plan is required.

Miami-Dade developed edition

Get reviewed population, housing and private-job statistics, official next steps, or dated map files for neighborhoods, government areas, parks, libraries, transit, zoning and flood references. Each file keeps its source, date, limits and reviewed fingerprint. Large map files are direct downloads. The older selected-park and project endpoints keep their original scope.

Sources, reuse and credit

Credit the original publisher and ourcounty.us. Our normalization is independent and is not an official agency product. NWS API documentation, NHC GIS data, NOAA tide API documentation, NOAA reuse guidance and Census terms explain the upstream services.

This product uses U.S. Census Bureau data but is not endorsed or certified by the Census Bureau. Keep the estimate period and margin of error with a Census number.

Country profiles require the acknowledgment The World Bank: World Development Indicators and the applicable CC BY 4.0 terms. The recovery summary uses the OpenFEMA API terms. It is not endorsed by FEMA, and FEMA cannot vouch for analysis made after retrieval.

API V1 covers the datasets listed here. The separate Atlas Access registry identifies reviewed published files and map connections that are not offered for reuse. Map imagery, third-party tiles, vessel positions, individual records and unlisted atlas layers are not included in this reuse offer.

Alerts and connected devices

Use these readings as an input to your own system, with age checks, a manual override and a safe response to missing data. A forecast covers an area; it cannot tell you whether a specific garden is wet. This beta is not an emergency notification service, a navigation instrument or an unattended control system.

For urgent conditions, follow official National Weather Service Key West and local emergency information. The API provides data, not commands to an irrigation controller or other device.
